Experience life in the open air at Landgoed Twistvliet. This is the only unique country estate camping and leisure farm on Walcheren, 1 km from the sea, with 40 spacious camping placements situated in an 8-hectare new nature reserve with fields and walking trails.

  
The name Twistvliet is an amalgamation of twist = flight and vliet = mound. Originally, Twistvliet was a country estate, converted later into a farm. The farmhouse, buildings and land are being restored as much as possible in the original English and Scottish style by the present owner, Nico Mesu. For instance, we are restoring a nature reserve adjacent to the farm, which used to be called the English wood. The public will have access to this area. The ponds will be repaired and the typically Walcheren hedge landscape will also make a reappearance. The estate is now called Landgoed Twistvliet and comprises a farm with outbuildings and 36 hectares of land.



Rural relaxation with numerous possibilities
Nico Mesu undertakes agricultural and leisure activities in this location. He rents out bicycles throughout the whole of the province of Zeeland to campings, hotels and groups of people through his cycle rental company Rekrearent, which has more than 1,000 bicycles available for rent. Camping is also possible at Twistvliet. Rustic wooden permanent caravans and apartments are available to hire. All this may be combined with rural one-day leisure activities and courses, such as driving a horse and carriage and existing catering facilities. The event office offers all kinds of options for meetings and groups, in a splendid rural atmosphere.
